The 21st International Course on Dynamic Agroforestry Systems, set for March 31 to April 10, 2025, offers an unparalleled opportunity to delve into regenerative agriculture. Taking place in Alto Beni, Bolivia, this course provides both theoretical insights and hands-on experiences, with a focus on the principles and practical applications of Dynamic Agroforestry (DAF), also known as Successional Agroforestry.

Participants will engage with the SysCom Sara Ana International Research Centre, the world’s largest comparative cocoa systems project led by FIBL, and visit Bolivia’s oldest DAF systems, which demonstrate the transformation from monoculture to biodiverse agricultural landscapes. Highlights include exploring advanced agroforestry techniques, carbon sequestration potentials, and discussions on biodiversity, soil fertility, and pest regulation within these systems.

Key features of the course include field visits to agroforestry systems at different successional stages, practical skill development in designing and managing agroforestry plots, and exchanges with local producers and cooperatives like El Ceibo, a global pioneer in organic cocoa production. Attendees will also gain insights into economic and ecological impacts, making this program ideal for facilitators, technical personnel, and professionals in sustainable agriculture.
