Dr. Bronner’s Serendipalm project in Ghana with more than 600 smallholder oil palm and cocoa farmers has started diversification of the farms. Farms are gradually replanted with mixed stands of oil palm, cocoa, fruit and timber trees. Integrating staple foods, such as beans, taro, maize. cassava and others will diversify the product range and produce early revenues from sales to the local market. DAF plantings will significantly increase income per acre, thus making agriculture again attractive for young farmers and their families.
